I want to make a career change. I want to be a full-time writer. It’s been challenging making a living solely off ebooks, which is why I now find myself back in the workforce.
I want something more staple that will offer better rewards (I’m talking about money). I’ve decided to try my hand at screenwriting.
I’m not the world’s best writer. However, I can tell a story. I have a million ideas in my head that I believe will make great scripts and great movies. I know I can write better stories than 90% of the shit that is being produced by Hollywood today.
My biggest challenge will be getting my scripts into the right hands. I don’t know anyone in the business. From what I’ve read selling a script is 80% about who you know and 20% luck.
I’m not kidding myself. I’m a black woman living outside of Los Angeles. My situation will be 100% luck.
I don’t know if it’s wise to just send my copyrighted scripts out into space to different studios and production companies. I don’t want to end up like Sophia Stewart. I know I need an agent.
Anyway, this is a new direction for me. Wish me luck!
