I’m purging some subscribers from my email subscription list. Let me explain…

First, let me say this will not impact RSS subscribers who get updates about this blog through a feed reader. It will not impact NEWLY subscribed email readers either.

This will only impact those who get updates about my blog via email AND who have been getting them for some time now. It will NOT impact everyone who subscribes via email. It will only impact those who subscribe via email, but NEVER actually open the email or click on anything in the email.

How do I know who opens, reads, or clicks on any links in the emails sent from this blog?

That’s the beauty of my email subscription service, Mailchimp.

I can see what date you subscribed…

How often you open the emails individually…

An overview of statistics for each blog post…

And what you clicked on both individually and as a whole…

I can also see what city, state, and countries subscribe to my blog and your individual locations…

This is not an attempt to spy on you or invade anyone’s privacy. Instead, it just gives me insight into what is popular on my blog and other statistics. It is for this reason that I have decided to purge people who NEVER open the emails or CLICK on the links in the email.

This is not personal.

If you don’t have 3 or more stars next to your email (this is an indication of your interest in the emails and your interaction with the emails you receive) your email will be purged.

This will not be a big deal to some of you as you follow me on Facebook and get updates on this blog through my Facebook page. For others who are impacted I suggest you subscribe via RSS reader, Facebook, or resubscribe via email.
